Family Crisis Center of Johnson County

Only emergency shelter in Johnson County for individuals and families escaping domestic violence or sexual assault. Safe, confidential shelter, 24-hour crisis hotline, counseling, support groups, legal advocacy.

Colonel's Corral

Transitional housing facility for homeless veterans in Johnson County. Provides shelter, support services, and stable environment while veterans work on employment, counseling, and permanent housing.

Salvation Army of Johnson County

111 S Anglin St, Cleburne, TX 76031

Assists with emergency lodging (motel vouchers) for homeless individuals/families on case-by-case basis, especially during extreme weather. Food, clothing, and referrals to nearby shelters.

Crazy8 Ministries

Faith-based organization offering transitional housing and discipleship for women and single mothers in Johnson County. Shared housing with mentor-led support, counseling, and life-skills training.

Note: Johnson County does not have a general-purpose homeless shelter for non-DV individuals. Homeless persons often seek shelter in Fort Worth (Presbyterian Night Shelter, etc. ~30 miles away) or rely on local churches.

Operation Blessing of Johnson County

Faith-based charity meeting emergency needs. Food staples, clothing, household items, financial assistance for rent/utilities/medications. Counseling classes in budgeting and life skills.

Salvation Army - Cleburne

Small food pantry and free bread/pastry distribution. Vouchers for clothing from thrift store, assistance with utility bills when funds allow.

Hope Church - 24/7 Community Food Pantry

2125 N Nolan River Rd, Cleburne, TX

Unstaffed outdoor food pantry open to anyone in need, any time. Stocked by community members. "Take what you need, leave what you can" basis.

Hope Medical and Dental Clinic

Charitable free clinic for uninsured residents of Johnson County. Primary medical care, limited dental services, geriatric care by volunteer providers. Chronic disease management and women's health clinic.

Johnson County Indigent Health Care

County program covering basic medical care for very low-income residents who meet eligibility. Assists with doctor visits, hospital care at JPS or Hill Regional, and prescriptions up to program limits.

Main hospital in Johnson County. Full-service community hospital with ER, surgical services, maternity. Offers charity care policy for those who qualify.

Senior Services (60+)

Meals on Wheels of North Central Texas

Delivers hot meals to homebound seniors and disabled adults in Johnson County. Provides pet food (AniMeals) and ensures daily welfare check. Also helps ensure clients have fans or heaters.

Johnson County Committee on Aging

Coordinates with local senior centers to provide congregate meals and activities. Cleburne Senior Center (1212 Glenwood Dr, 817-556-6310) and Burleson Senior Activity Center (216 SW Johnson Ave, 817-295-6611).

NCTCOG Area Agency on Aging

Serves Johnson County seniors. Caregiver support, home-delivered meals through Meals on Wheels NCT, benefits counseling (Medicare/Medicaid advice), personal care, minor home modifications.
